to mark International Youth Day, we’ll be watching American Honey by Andrea Arnold

International Youth Day is an awareness day designated by the United Nations. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. The first IYD was observed on 12 August, 2000 #internationalyouthday American Honey by Andrea Arnold Star, a teenage girl living on the fringes of society with her half-siblings, meets Jake and decides to join his ragtag band of traveling magazine sellers. She gets caught up in a whirlwind of hard partying, law bending and young love as she criss-crosses the Midwest with this band of misfits. “Dramatically, I like darkness, I like conflict – but I don’t see the world as defined by them. And why would I pretend to? That’s not who I am.” CLICK HERE FOR WHERE TO WATCH
