Help us make cinema more accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone. We’re thrilled to launch Reclaim The Frame For All in partnership with Big Give, a vital campaign to make our work - and the work of the filmmakers we champion - accessible to wider audiences across the UK. As the UK’s leading charity advancing gender justice in cinema, we’re committed to ensuring that everyone can experience the joy of film, regardless of income or access needs. Through this campaign, we aim to remove the barriers that prevent too many people from enjoying the big screen. Why this matters Recent research from the BFI shows that more than a third of people surveyed cite ticket prices as the main reason they don’t go to the cinema. We also know that many screenings still fail to provide adequate access for audiences who are Deaf, partially hard of hearing, blind, or partially sighted. At Reclaim The Frame, we’re working to change that. Our own survey results demonstrate a strong sense of trust among attendees that our events are welcoming and accessible: 98% of respondents who don’t attend events often said they feel included, and 85% of our disabled audience members agreed (based on over 600 survey responses). Currently, 80% of our events include descriptive subtitles and live captioning, while 25% offer audio description. We also provide free tickets to community groups and individuals for whom cost is a barrier - no questions asked. With your help, we can do even more.
