Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. Writer/dir Angela Robinson

The tale behind last year’s blockbuster movie Wonder Woman, this powerful biopic details the creation of the DC comic superheroine. Psychologist William Marston (Evans) is convinced that women have superior powers of intelligence, insight and strength of character. Inspired by Olive (Heathcote) and Elizabeth (Hall), the women he is in a secret polyamorous relationship with, Marston creates Wonder Woman as ‘propaganda for a new type of woman who should rule the world’.

Underlining the link to early feminism and the sado-masochistic backstory to one of the greatest heroines of all time, Robinson’s film is a celebration of courage and creativity.

Dir. Angela Robinson, US, 2017, 108 mins. Cast. Luke Evans, Rebecca Hall, Bella Heathcote
