Jordan, 1967; spirited young Tarek escapes a Palestinian refugee camp, determined to go home, and is taken under the wing of a group of freedom fighters. When his Mother follows, they embark on an adventure, a journey from helplessness to one of hope, driven by an unshakeable resolve to be free. Palestine’s 2013 entry for the Academy Awards, and from Palestine’s first female feature filmmaker, WHEN I SAW YOU is a powerful work of resistance.

Having premiered at, and opened, Birds’ Eye View Film Festival’s 2013 edition, Reclaim The Frame are thrilled to be re-presenting WHEN I SAW YOU at BFI Southbank, with Annemarie Jacir, who went on to make WAJIB and the upcoming PALESTINE36, in attendance.
