Glasgow: The Son and The Sea
A tender coming-of-age drama chronicling the lives of three very different young men, Cairns’ film is a quietly remarkable exploration of how loss, vulnerability and disability forge potent connections. Set in London and Northern Scotland, this tremendously naturalistic work, featuring a cast that came together organically through family ties, is a film of hope and positivity.

About The Event
This International Women's Day weekend, Reclaim The Frame is proud to co-host the Scottish premiere of The Son and The Sea by Stroma Cairns in collaboration with Glasgow Film Festival.
A blend of personal experience and threads of familial history , the film is a coming of age story that questions how boys become men if there’s no one to show them the way.
We will be hosting a Q&A with the director after the screening.
